Olive Tree Apartments, Sveta Marija na Krasu, Umag
The Olive Tree Apartments are located in the quiet village of Sveta Marija na Krasu. There are two apartments ready to welcome our guests, while we, a family of four, live on the top floors of the house. We have only recently (just before the end of last year) moved from Portorož and are still learning about our new environment and the new country. Nevertheless, we are looking forward to the coming summer and to welcome you into our apartments.Sveta Marija na Krasu is an ideal starting point for excursions and cycling trips, while in the summer months you can enjoy the many beaches close-by in Kanegra, Umag (Stella Maris), Savudrija and in Portorož. You can also find some ideas for trips around Croatian and Slovenian Istria on our website, alongside recommendations for good restaurants.
The apartment "Old House" measures approximately 70 m2 and stretches across 2 floors. It has a separate entrance on the right-hand side of the house where you can park your car. The ground floor entrance leads through a small lobby into a living room, dining room and kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, oven, hob and a kettle, while in the living room you will find a TV and a sofa bed. On the ground floor there is also a bathroom with a toilet, shower and a basin. The two bedrooms and another bathroom (toilet and basin) are located on the first floor accessible via a wooden staircase, which is why we don’t recommend this apartment to families with children younger than 5 years old. The bigger bedroom has a 160 cm wide bed, while the bed in the smaller bedroom is 140 cm wide.
Apartment "Studio" is a spacious and airy 35 m2 studio apartment. The entrance is from the courtyard where you can park your car. The kitchen, with a fridge, a hob and a kettle, is brand new, as is all the other furniture in the apartment. There is a big bed (160 cm wide), a dining corner, a wardrobe and a TV. The bathroom has a shower and is very spacious.
If needed, we can provide a baby chair and a cot. Both apartments enjoy free wi-fi.
Istria, known for its rich culinary tradition with strong emphasis on local ingredients, is an ideal destination for all gourmets. Bobiči (sweet corn and bean minestrone), truffles, boškarin (cattle unique to the Istrian peninsula), olive oil, home-made pasta and sea food are just some of the standard ingredients and dishes found on the menus of Istrian inns and restaurants. The two village inns, Rustika and Viva, can be reached by foot, or you can take a short car ride to eat at Buščina, Stari Podrum or many other inviting restaurants nearby. You can find more recommendations in the link Colours of Istria - Michelin recognitions.
